Veteran Yoruba actress, Madam Grace Owoola Oyin-Adejobi, popularly known as Iya Osogbo, looks beautiful in new photos as she celebrates her 96th birthday.

The veteran actress earned her iconic nickname through her memorable role in the popular Yoruba movie, “Eran Iya Osogbo,” a film that cemented her place in the history of Nigerian entertainment and introduced her to generations of fans.

A Nigerian photographer identifed as tee_boss.imagery on Instagram who captured the veteran actress’s 96th birthday photoshoot, wrote;

“If you Remember the movie
ERAN IYA OSHOGBO ……….

Before she was Iya Osogbo, there was Grace.

A woman whose story began long before many of us ever saw her on screen.
For generations, Madam Grace Owoola has been part of the rich tapestry of Yoruba storytelling.
And while Eran Iya Osogbo introduced the unforgettable character of Iya Osogbo to many of us, the woman behind the character had already lived a story of her own.

So for these portraits, we wanted to honour both.
The woman.
The character.
The memories she has given generations.
And yes, the goat had to make a little appearance. 🐐
Not to steal the show, but as a subtle nod to the character many of us remember her by.
Because sometimes, the smallest details carry the biggest stories.

Tomorrow, Madam Grace Owoola turns 96.
96 years of life.
96 years of stories.
96 years of grace.
And this is why we do Preserving Legacy.
Because the faces we see today will one day become the stories people tell tomorrow.

We are honoured to preserve a little piece of your story.”
