Nigeria’s aviation industry is set for another major development as Enugu Air announces plans to expand its international operations with a new Lagos–London Gatwick route.
Enugu Air has secured regulatory approval to commence flights between Lagos and London Gatwick in December 2026, marking a significant step in the airline’s international expansion.
The airline announced on Wednesday, November 4, that bookings for the new route are now open, giving intending passengers an opportunity to make travel reservations ahead of the commencement of operations.
According to the announcement, the service will operate through a strategic partnership with Omni-Blu Aviation (OBA), which has been appointed as the designated operating partner.
The development is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom while providing additional travel opportunities for passengers travelling for business, tourism, education and family engagements.
The announcement comes about six weeks after Enugu Air operated its maiden international flight to Douala, Cameroon, on September 23, 2026.
A New Chapter for Nigerian Aviation
The Lagos–London route represents another step in Enugu Air’s ambition to expand beyond domestic operations and establish a stronger presence in the international aviation market.
The Enugu State Government, under Governor Peter Mbah, has continued to pursue an aviation development strategy aimed at positioning the state as an emerging centre for investment, tourism and international connectivity.
The new partnership is also expected to create opportunities for stronger commercial relationships and improved travel links between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
What Passengers Should Know
Passengers interested in travelling on the new route can make enquiries and check booking information through Enugu Air’s official booking platform.
Although the airline has announced December as the commencement period, passengers should check the official platform for confirmed flight dates, schedules and ticket prices.
The development is expected to attract attention from Nigerian travellers seeking additional options for international journeys.
