INEC Begins PVC Distribution as Nigeria’s Voter Register Tops 103 Million

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced nationwide activities involving Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as preparations intensify for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The development comes as Nigeria’s voter register surpasses 103 million, highlighting the growing importance of voter registration and electoral preparations ahead of the next general elections.

INEC has urged eligible voters to follow official announcements regarding PVC collection and voter registration verification.

Where Can Voters Collect Their PVCs?

Registered voters should contact their relevant INEC Local Government Area office or designated collection centre to confirm where and when they can collect their cards.

Voters are advised to verify the arrangements before travelling to avoid unnecessary delays.

Voters Asked to Check Their Details

INEC has also scheduled a preliminary display of the voter register from October 9 to October 15, 2026.

The exercise gives registered voters an opportunity to check their personal information and report errors or discrepancies through the appropriate channels.

Why the Exercise Matters

PVC collection and voter information verification are important steps towards ensuring that eligible Nigerians are prepared to participate in the 2027 general elections.

Voters are encouraged to obtain information from official INEC channels and resolve any registration issues promptly.
