US Releases Names and Photos of 24 Nigerians Facing Deportation

The United States government has released the names and photographs of 24 Nigerian nationals arrested by immigration officers over alleged criminal offences, according to a report published on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

The US Department of Homeland Security said the individuals were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in different parts of the country.

The alleged offences listed by the department include wire fraud, money laundering, identity theft, forgery, drug-related crimes, weapons violations and other criminal offences.

The announcement forms part of the Trump administration’s wider immigration enforcement campaign, which has focused on identifying and deporting non-US citizens considered priorities for removal.

However, the allegations against each individual differ, and an arrest or allegation should not automatically be treated as proof of guilt.

The development highlights the growing attention surrounding immigration enforcement in the United States and its potential implications for Nigerians living abroad.

Nigerians with family members in the US are likely to follow such developments closely as immigration policies and enforcement actions continue to attract public attention.

Utelnova will continue to monitor developments affecting Nigerians at home and abroad.
